Hiking - Walking: Newbourne Springs Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: 2 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Wednesday 1st September β walk **** β Newbourne Springs β cloudy with
very light showers.
There was hope of some foiling today if the wind played ball, sadly it did
not so after doing my exercises I packed a picnic and Mag and I headed over
to Newbourne Springs despite it being another cloudy day with some very
light showers, summer seems to have long gone now! Itβs only 7 miles so
arrived at one and set off around the lovely Suffolk Wildlifes Newbourne
springs really enjoying the beautiful woodland in peace and quiet, not
seeing another person for the whole of our walk:) The small crystal clear
stream is as lovely as ever, not many birds but saw loads of squirrels
which is not surprising as there are many hazel nut trees:) Walked up to
the heath area for our yummy salad surrounded by bracken. Then down along
side the 4x4 off road track and back to the path. Out of the reserve past
the farm building coming out near the road collecting loads of blackberries
along the way! Back to the springs we take the right hand duck boarded path
that lopes back to the main path passing a herd of black long horned sheep.
So a nice couple of hours despite the poor weather and home for a cuppa and
cake, fingers crossed for some foiling tomorrow, wind direction and tides
good for The Dip:)
